A statement from Campus Gifts
Updated April 2nd 2020

We’re open for business

We are rigidly observing social distancing in our Distribution Centre

During the present World-wide pandemic, Temptation Gifts are aiming to provide the best possible service we can to our many thousands of customers, subject only to the good will and good health of our own valuable members of staff.  At a time when people will lose a good deal of social contact, we believe we are filling a vital public service in continuing to give everyone the opportunity to express their love and concern for their friends and relatives, by sending them a card and a gift.  However, in order to ensure we are complying with social distancing protocols in our Distribution Centre, we are working with smaller teams, so please allow up to 7 days for standard UK delivery

SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE
We are assessing government updates on a daily basis, so we can adapt our business accordingly. We have already made significant adjustments to the layout of our warehouse and to our procedures, and are working with smaller teams to ensure that all our members of staff are operating safely at all times both in the workplace and in their lunch room. The well-being of our employees and customers is an absolute priority and we would like to assure you that our health and safety systems are robust.

GOVERNMENT APPROVAL
The government website shows the following advice to businesses:

Keeping your business open

With the exception of some non-essential shops and public venues,  we are not asking any other businesses to close
indeed it is important for business to carry on.

 • We note the Prime Minister’s comment “What we are NOT doing is closing down the whole UK economy”
• We note Michael Gove’s assurance that it is acceptable for people to order and have delivered non-essential goods online
• We note Health Secretary’s Matt Hancock’s comment that if people cannot work from home they should go in to work to keep the economy going
• We note Amazon, John Lewis, The Toy Shop, and thousands more online businesses are still open for business.

WORKING WITH ROYAL MAIL
We are dependent upon our partners at Royal Mail and other shippers to deliver your goods, but at the moment, they are coping brilliantly with demand despite having some staff self-isolating themselves and we salute them.  It may be that some of our shipping times get a little stretched, and there may be times when our customer service support team is not available to deal immediately with a query, but after nearly four decades in business, and twenty years online, we will be calling on all our experience to do everything in our power not to let you down.

Working with our international partners
Fed-Ex: We are pleased to say, that despite all the difficulties thrown up by the restrictions associated with Covid-19, Fedex are still offering their priority service to most destinations worldwide. This is a premium service provided by FedEx complete with end to end tracking so you will be updated at every stage along the journey. Fed-Ex have imposed a surcharge on this service, but Temptation Gifts is absorbing this extra cost and is not passing it on to our customers.
CURRENTLY SUSPENDED International Airmail: Unfortunately following advice from Royal Mail, we have regrettably made the decision to withdraw International Airmail as a delivery option for the immediate future as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak. Royal Mail have advised us that due to restrictions imposed by many countries, they are experiencing logistical issues causing significant delays to their international deliveries. We feel therefore that we have been left with no alternative but to remove this delivery option. We will continue to evaluate the situation and will re-instate it as soon as we are confident that normal delivery timescales can be met.

Good health and good spirits
May we take the opportunity to wish all our customers good health, and good spirits in the difficult period ahead.
Stay safe, support each other, and remember to keep in touch with friends and colleagues.
