| About Us Campus Gifts was created in the summer of 2004 and first went live on 23rd September. It was developed by Joel Adams who was at the time a full time 2nd year History and Politics student at the Univeristy of Warwick. When he first went to Warwick in October 2003 Joel quickly discovered that for students living on campus, buying gifts for family and friends was not very easy. The choice on campus was very limited, and travelling into town was not always convenient. Like most students, he spent a lot of time on the web, but found it difficult to find unusual gifts there, with very few sites devoted to young fun ideas. Joels parents, Mike and Sheena, have run their own gift business (Temptation Gifts Ltd.) for many years, with a number of stores and a website. So having been brought up in this environment, Joel approached his parents and put forward a proposal to build a new website, for students. Thinking about the kind of site he and his friends would enjoy using, he worked over the summer of 2004, designing the style and content of the site himself. Tapping into his parents contacts and expertise, he gradually sourced the kind of gifts which he felt would appeal to a student market, and things began to take shape. Thirteen weeks after starting work, the site went live just before the start of Autumn Term 2004, with approaching 1000 products. Since then the site has expanded rapidly, and is now one of the most successful sites of its kind on the web, with constantly updated products, and great value special offers for students and young people in general. Philosophy A quick word from designer and marketing manager, Joel Adams. What I hope Ive done with Campus Gifts is create a site which will be of real benefit to students, as well as being enjoyable to browse. And it can definately save you a few quid! Its no secret that students dont have a lot of ready cash, so weve made the prices on the site as low as possible. After all, what matters is that you buy the right gift, not the most expensive gift. | Making A Purchase Your Shopping Basket Adding an item: When you have decided to buy one of our products, click the "Buy" button next to the product. This item will then automatically be included in your basket. Once you have placed an item in your basket, you will be taken there to see and then taken straight back to the page you were on, to shop for more. Deleting an item: If you place an item into your basket which you later decide you no longer wish to buy, it is easy to remove it. Changing a quantity: Write the number of items you require in the box in the quantity column as you make your purchase. This figure which will be set at a default of 1. If you choose to change that quantity you can do so in the Cart page- then press 'Update' Adding Giftwrap: If you are sending a present to a friend (see below) you might want to have it professionally wrapped. To do so check the box in the Giftwrap column next to any items you want this to apply to. The gift(s) will be beautifully gift wrapped and ribboned for a charge of £2.50 per gift. At The Checkout When you have finished browsing and are ready to purchase your goods return to your shopping basket and go to the checkout by selecting the "checkout" button. At the checkout you need to enter your name, e-mail address, home address and telephone number. This information is required so that we are able to send you a copy of the despatch note or contact you if there are any problems with your order. Sending A Gift To a Friend An important part of the theory behind Campus Gifts, is the understanding that when youre at Uni it is often difficult to visit your friends as often as youd like. | Delivery Schedule Having received a valid order Campus Gifts will despatch your order from our warehouse within 24 hours during the working week, using the Royal Mail service. Any orders received over the weekend (after midday on Friday) will be despatched on Monday morning. | Returns Policy What to do if you are unhappy with your purchase:<</b>>!! Email us to inform us you wish to return the goods. Please do this as soon as possible after you have received your goods, preferably within 24 hours. Return the goods to us in their original packaging if possible. If you have lost or destroyed the packaging please try to use something equivalent so that the goods are not damaged further on their way back to us.
